Robinson invited panelist at SXSW

Rice University Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Jacob Robinson was an invited panelist at the 2023 South by Southwest Conference in Austin, TX.

Robinson took part in the panel discussion “Does ‘Mind Control for Good’ Exist?” on March 10 at 4 p.m. at the JW Marriott, 110 E. 2nd St. He and fellow brain-computer interface (BCI) experts addressed how society and large organizations should begin to leverage the nascent technology. They discussed BCI technology being applied at scale, as well as drew a clear line between approaches that provide benefits versus those that strip us of our agency and humanity.
